Nissan vehicles rep the all-wheel-drive world, in 2012 and beyond! This is not to be mistaken with standard 4×4 / 4WD available on all Nissan SUV’s (Pathfinder, Xterra and Armada). You might be surprised at one of those available all-wheel-drive cars from the Japanese auto maker.

For the record, “AWD” options on most of these Nissan vehicles are optional additions, not standard or base tech. But for a small increase in price, you get a whole lot more!

2012 Nissan Juke

The all new Juke (pictured above) for 2012 is just as funky as last year’s freshman model. With Multi-link suspension and AWD, Juke has become a cherished car at Nissan dealerships nationwide.

Its 1.6-liter Direct Injection turbocharged 4-cylinder produces 188 horses at 5,600 RPM. Base Juke models will receive a MPG rating of 27 city, 32 highway – while AWD drops each down 2 MPG: 25 and 30.

(source: Nissan USA)

2012 Nissan Rogue SV

Next is Rogue, which features a 2.5-liter four cylinder engine. It’s a smaller CUV (aka, crossover) but still produces 170 horsepower with respectable take off speed. And outside of Subaru, it’s difficult finding smaller rides that offer anything other than front wheel drive. In fact, the aforementioned Japanese car maker is Rogue’s only competition offering superb AWD in this class.

(source: Portland Life)

2012 Nissan Murano SL

Murano is similar to Rogue, only larger. This full-sized CUV has power to back up its roominess. 0 – 60 time in Murano SL is 7.5 seconds, and hits a top speed of 116 mph with its strong V6 powerplant. AWD comes in handy when reaching higher speeds on harsh terrain, or during those slippery fall and winter months.

(source: Car & Driver)

2012 Nissan GT-R

It might come as a bit of a surprise that this super-fast Japanese sports car, which is powered by a 3.8-Liter V6 engine, comes in All Wheel Drive. Well, it’s true. With 0 – 60 time in at 3.8 second with help from 530 horses, you’ll need assistance getting around wet or tight corners.

Unlike Rogue & Murano, drivers lose cargo space, as well we fuel economy (16 City, 23 Hwy) in GT-R. But who cares? You’re driving a GT-R!!

Nissan plans to take over two speed records at this year’s Goodwood Festival of Speed hill climb.

First off, the all new Nissan Leaf will attempt to “become the fastest vehicle to be driven up the hill – backwards.” Nissan adds the fact that “Unlike petrol-powered cars, in which reverse gear allows only low speeds, the Leaf has an electric powertrain that, theoretically, enables it to be driven backwards as fast as it can go forwards.” This means Leaf has the potential to hit 90 mph.

Secondly, a Nissan Juke will attempt to set a speed record for being “the fastest four-wheeled vehicle to drive up the hill on just two wheels.”

Professional stunt driver Terry Grant will perform both stunts, and commented, “I’ve experienced Goodwood before, but never attempted to set a new record. To have the chance to grab not only one but two records at the same event will hopefully provide everyone with a very entertaining spectacle.”

SOME Nissan Juke owners, don’t get all excited. But according to the Japanese auto maker, and Kicking Tires, “the Juke’s all-wheel-drive model has a different-size fuel tank compared with the front-drive model. The all-wheel-drive model’s fuel tank is 11.8 gallons (13.2 gallons in the front-wheel-drive model). Early in the car’s launch, some of the marketing and other related materials incorrectly stated that both fuel tanks were the same size.”

Nissan sent letters to 4000 Juke costumers in apology, along with checks for $400. If a check isn’t enough, Nissan goes on to say it will repurchase the Juke (minus accumulated mileage and the $400 if you cashed it) and “apply the repurchase value toward the purchase of another new Nissan.”

If you believe you’re affected by the Juke mix-up, you can call Nissan’s Consumer Affairs division at 855-254-9575.

After the weather machines and robots assassins finish their job, Nissan Juke will be our savior. This new “1984″-type commercial shows us what to expect in the centuries to come. Thanks to Eli & Nissan Canada for this vid!

Nissan showed off teaser images (well, actually just one image) featuring its Townpod Electric Vehicle concept. We are going to guess this car will eventually appear similar to an Anime character, too bad it probably won’t be Spike Spiegel…probably more like Hello Kitty.

Nissan’s tiny EV was teased prior to a Paris Motor Show unveiling. Details about the car are limited, but the Japanese auto maker has stated Townpod will combine “eye-catching design with a spacious and practical interior.”

Yes…this is the only image they’ve released so far.

With the goal of attracting creative and tech-savvy entrepreneurs, Townpod concept will usher in a “new-era of flexible, stylish vehicles that will bring electric-vehicle mobility to the masses.” Along with this new mini-Nissan, the company will also display their updated Juke, Micra and Leaf vehicles in Paris. Many of these are run on electric-only powerplants, helping Nissan secure a place as one of the world’s top green car producers.

Nissan was packing at the 2010 North American International Auto Show in Detroit this year, along with their Nissan Juke Teaser and the promise of 7 other new models for North American. In fact, they promise to “have eight new or revised models on sale in the U.S. within the next 12 months.” Two of the Japanese Auto Maker’s more popular sellers: Titan pickup truck and Quest minivan, are going to be replaced. Smaller Nissan models will come into play, including this sexy Juke Concept, teased at NAIAS:

Here’s a quick rundown of the 8 new Nissan / Infiniti Models coming by the middle of 2011, thanks to CarConnection:

Infiniti M: A new six-cylinder and V-8 luxury sedan coming this spring.
40th Anniversary Nissan 370Z: An uprated version of the Touring spec Nissan 370Z that goes on sale this spring.
Infiniti QX56: A replacement for the aging QX full-size SUV is coming this summer.
Nissan Juke: A European designed compact crossover will be introduced locally in September.
Nissan NV 2500: A full-size commercial van similar to Ford’s Econoline that goes on sale in November.
Nissan Quest: A replacement for the slow-selling and now discontinued minivan is coming in January, 2011.
Nissan Leaf: One of the first all-electric vehicles from a major automaker will hit showrooms in December in the form of the new Leaf.
Brand new Infiniti: Not much is known about this model except that it will be derived from an existing model and possibly featuring a hybrid or all-electric powertrain.
