Small. At least, smaller then you think. Photos of the 2009 Nissan Cube give it an almost minivan-sized look. But trust us, it’s not until you see one in real life do you appreciate the interesting design and tiny stature of this new Japanese wagon. Cubes have begun hitting the road ways of North America, and thanks to discount programs and Cash For Clunkers, more will surely be out on highways near you soon.
The exterior dimensions measure only an overall length (inches) of 156.7, width of: 66 inch. and overall height of: 65.0. Basically you are on par with the old Ford Escort Wagons. But you really have to see a Cube in person in order to appreciate its tininess, it sure took us by surprise. Nissan Dealer’s nationwide have them in stock…or should. As for the other goodies – Power: 91 kW, 122 HP SAE at 5,200 rpm; 127 ft lb, 172 Nm at 4,800 rpm. The Nissan Cube’s Overall Curb Weight (gross) is 2,762ibs.
The 2009 Nissan Cube S, though extremely stylish, is very low-tech, especially for a Japanese import: it contains almost zero-tech–not even MP3 CD playback. According to one online reviewer, “The best thing that can be said for it is the stock stereo should be easily replaceable.” Which is sad, seeing as part of the Cube’s anticipation was their scifi looking dashboard.
