The original slogan for the Nissan Xterra was “Everything you need, nothing you don’t.” The 2008 Xterra definitely lives up to this standard. This compact SUV offers utilities to accommodate the needs of a variety of ages, lifestyles and more; outdoor explorer or urban adventurer, your demands will be met.
The roof rack offers movable aerodynamic crossbars to keep your cargo in place, and a removable and ventilated gearbox sits at the front for additional storage. On the rear of the Xterra there is a built in rear bumper step on each side to allow easier roof rack access. The storage capabilities leek into the interior of this 2008 design as well. The trunk space offers the Utili-track Cargo Channel System, various clips and hooks and hideaway storage to maximize the cargo space capacity. The standard 60/40-split rear seats can fold down to further increase the capacity to haul items. If you need to tow something on the back of the vehicle, the Xterra is capable of towing up to 5000 pounds. The 4.0-liter V6 engine, that produces 265 horsepower and 284 pounds-feet of torque, makes this possible. Team that with a five-speed automatic or six-speed manual transmissions, both with overdrive, and you have a hefty supply of power.
The driver and passengers stay fulfilled while in the vehicle with a luxurious array of features, such as an In-cabin microfilter, air conditioning, an informative Trip computer, voltage and oil pressure gauges, remote keyless entry and dizzying amount of further features. Not only did Nissan keep practicality and comfort in mind, but they also made the 2008 Xterra exceptionally safe. The Advance Air Bag System with dual-stage front air bags, side-impact air bags and roof-mounted curtain air bags provide enhanced side-impact, frontal and rollover protection; not to mention the engineered architecture built to supply maximum crash safety.
