New to the 2008 Nissan Altima line-up is the available Couple body style. The Couple is slightly similar to the Sedan counterpart, but it offers some distinctive exterior features. The height and length of the Coupe are less than the Sedan; the Sedans dimensions have also decreased from the previous generations. This smaller exterior design allows the vehicle to be aerodynamic and take further advantage of the engine you decide to go for.

The 2008 Altima Coupe comes standard with a 2.5-liter I-4 engine, capable of producing 175-hp. If you desire more muscle a 270-hp, 3.5-liter V-6 engine is available. The transmission with your chosen engine can be either a six-speed manual or a CVT automatic transmission with overdrive and auto-manual. Combined with the sleek design of the Coupe, and you will find yourself driving a responsive and potent piece of equipment.

If you need to transport a larger object, the split rear seatback condenses to provide more room. The cargo and passenger space for such a compact car is surprising. No need to worry about safety with this smaller car either; the Coupe comes standard with six standard airbags. Also included in the vehicle are an Anti-Lock Braking System, Electronic Brake Force Distribution and an optional Electronic Stability System. Not to mention the design includes front and rear crumple zones, as well as a shock-absorbing steering column. It’s no wonder received a 5-star crash rating.

Some of the interior conveniences include an impressive audio system, Dual Zone Automatic Temperature Control and Bluetooth capabilities. Also worth mentioning is the innovative Navigation System, which gives a visual display of various options; you can see traffic, what is behind you (as seen from the rear-view camera) and more on the monitor display screen.

The 2008 Nissan Altima Coupe is something to get excited for in this coming year.

  4. I have this car & it’s great I love it, it was about 23,000 for it but it’s pretty darn fast, I wish I would have went with the 3.5 engine but oh well!

  5. I bought this car about a month ago and I LOVE it. Absolutely the best car on the road for 2009 in this price range. It is a joy to drive (I enjoy both the automatic CVT or 6-speed “manual” shift equally), it turns heads, and offers a broad range of features in the base model. To cap it all off, I can actually fit all three of my small children in the backseat, which is a feat almost no other coupe can pull off. I too, only opted for the 2.5 S and it has power and features to spare for me. Granted, it has been 9 years since I became a father and sold my 300zx, but I still enjoy tight curves and the pinned-in-the-seat feeling, and this car delivers as well as its predecessor coupes.
